POP Displays / Individual Packaging, LPC

CLASS: Concept II, Individual Packaging Design / Point-of-Purchase Displays (VCom Deparment). Students develop and refine their grqaphic skills creating dimensional designs that convey a message. Their finished assignments become part of their portfolios that will display their skill sets.
ASSIGNMENT / OUTCOME (Table Top POP Displays): Students were asked to research and design a POP that held products that could be purchased. They choose small packaging filled with toys. As a group, the students designed the 2 displays, then each student designed a series of packages by using existing materials easily printed. They also engineered the construction of their POP concepts as a team.
ASSIGNMENT / OUTCOME (Individual Packaging): Students were asked to research and create a packaging concept based on an existing product or a new company. They were not only responsible for creating the packaging, but they also needed to tell a story that reinforced the product. Finished products included: Godiva Cakes – individual slices; Hot Stixs – a package/carrying case for drum sticks; and PYRO – a toy character packaged in a match box.
