The Scavenger Hunt, AiCA-SF

CLASS: Layout & Background Design (Animation Department). Layout was my profession in the animation business.  It was natural I would design and develop the program at AiCA-SF

ASSIGNMENT / OUTCOME: Students were given a storyboard I created (see below) and asked to create one of the scenes in color using either digital or traditional painting methoids.

Student 1 — created a scene using acrylic paints on illustration board adding a dramatic edge to the finished scene.

Student 2 — created a scene using high-end digital techniques in combination with illustrator and photoshop for a photographic effect simulating the depth of field effect giving a quality of versamiltude to the scene.
