Model Rocketry for Education

Rocket Powered Curriculum
I've invented a new rocket and a new method for delivering a cost-effective model rocket program for schools and clubs. This includes curriculum that aligns with California Science Standards for 4th and 5th grade students.

The program period is about 4-6 hours over 2-3 days and includes lectures, powerpoints and booklets on the history, chemistry and physics of rocketry. Students build their own rocket (printed on thick paper stock on a home printer) that launches, flies and safely recovers using an inexpensive commercial hobby rocket motor. Classroom activities end with a launch on school grounds.

The pilot program launched at Arroyo Seco Elementary School in Livermore, CA in 2007. Currently, I run an after school program at Joe Michell School in Livermore. This project brings a quality of self-confidence and satisfaction to a young student, knowing that he/she were able to build with their own hands a rocket that works.

After all, once your student understands rocket science, the rest of their education will be a piece of cake.
