Fashion Display, AiCA-SF

CLASS: Fundamentals of Design. The Foundations Department at AiCA-SF worked with beginning students to give them a firm understanding of design and their role as a designer in business. The department was a confluence of Graphic, Web, Animation, Game and Fashion Students. As their instructor it was my responsibility to show how the process of design was similar in each of thier disciplines. As a result, their assignments included projects in each of the disciplines taught at the college.
ASSIGNMENT / OUTCOME: Students were directed to visit downtown San Francisco and view window displays based on fashion design. They researched, took notes, sketched and snapped photos. From that research, they designed and constructed their displays to a specific scale (1.5” = 12” ) using traditional materials for the project.
