CLASS: Color For Design (VCom Department). Color is an element of design, the only one deserving of its own class of study due to its power and depth of sophistication. Color for Design (Color Theory) is the study of color as it interacts with color and design.

ASSIGNMENT / OUTCOME:Students were given a small section of a famous photograph (below) and asked to illustrate that section using a color scheme. I worked through the different theories of color and blending with the students. They imported the image section into illustrator and worked with the color palette tools to create their own color vision of the area. Then we combined all of the students squares to recreate the image and discussed the overall areas that blended well and those that didn’t.
